Cedar Shakes and Shingles
The world’s most timeless roofing material was made by nature. Cedar. Modern technology now combines the appeal and durability of genuine cedar, plus the safety standards required in fire hazard areas. Cedar Plus provides enduring fire protection with a state of the art treating process. Cedar Plus high quality cedar shakes and shingles are placed in treatment cylinders where fire retardants are injected into the inner cells of the wood. The material then goes through a polymerization process and the fire retardants are locked into the wood fiber. After 10 years of outdoor weathering and regular testing, the treatment has been deemed permanent. Class A, B, and C fire ratings are available. Cedar shakes can withstand winds exceeding 120 mph and 130 mph, are lightweight (approximately 3-4 pounds per square foot) and are an excellent insulator, keeping your home cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. Cedar Plus Shingles come with either a 30 year or 50 year Limited warranty. Our Design Center/Showroom has on display heavy and medium wood shakes.
