GAF now makes
owning a Slate roof affordable and possible with the TruSlate system. Slate
is the most beautiful and durable roofing material known to man. Slate roofs
have been known to last for hundreds of years. TruSlate is real hand-split
quarried slate-not synthetic imitation. On an old fashioned-slate roof, half
of each slate is never seen, because it’s tucked under the piece above it.
The TruSlate system replaces the wasted slate with a high-tech waterproofing
material. With this design, TruSlate can be installed on almost any roof! The
TruSlate system is lightweight (at only 550 lbs. per square (square = 10ft
x10ft) - structural engineering may or may not be required; check your city
to determine if your home will require a structural inspection/engineering)
and comes with a Lifetime Transferable Warranty.
With five core colors and four accent colors available, you’re sure to find
a color that will complement virtually any exterior color scheme. Core Colors
can be used on their own or can be combined with other Core Colors. They can
also be combined with Accent Colors.
