Both the Shake and Slate profiles cost is approximately half the cost of natural slate and they are lighter in weight than natural slate (Shake profile approximately 304 lbs. per square/Slate profile approximately 273 lbs. per square-square = 10 ft.x10ft.). Reinforcement of your roof structure is not necessary with a DaVinci Slate roof as there may be with a concrete tile or natural slate roof.
