On 28 April 1973, an event took place that changed Antelope forever. A large bomb explosion at the Roseville switch yard took care of any buildings that were left in Antelope. What is known as Antelope today mostly began as a planned community in the late 1980s. It consisted of mainly single-family homes and apartments. Due to the relative newness of the neighborhood, most homes are new and the areas well planned out. Antelope received its own postmark and recognition as a community by the county on July 1, 1994. Antelope residents are excited to enter a new era with the conversion of McClellan Air Force Base to civilian use fueling the restructuring and redevelopment of their community.
